The Future of Logan Day
Mar 16th, 2007 by Shannon
There have been rumors recently about Veronica Mars getting canceled. While that is still a (tragic!) possibility, there may still be hope for the show. Kristen on E! has reported that the creator of Veronica Mars is shooting a short trailer/featurette of an alternate format that could bring Veronica Mars back next season four years in the future. In the featurette, Veronica is an FBI agent, though some sources are reporting that she is still in the FBI academy. This could be an interesting new format, and I’d be glad to have that rather than no Veronica at all, though it is unlikely that the rest of the cast would be returning for the new format. This is a shame, as I love Mac and I am a huge fan of Logan and a Logan/Veronica shipper. Of course this also means that even if Veronica Mars returns, it would be Logan Day no more.
Veronica Mars is too young to die! It’s bad enough that The O.C. ended mid-season this year, when it was probably the best season since Season 1. Veronica Mars is one of the smartest, prettiest, most entrancing shows on TV right now, and in it’s third season, I don’t think it’s over.

Of course, the other half of Logan Day, Gilmore Girls is in it’s seventh season and a more likely candidate for an ending. We’ve known for a long time that Lauren and Alexis had seven season contracts, and in Rory’s last year of Yale it would seem a natural place to bring the show to a close. But if this is the last season of Gilmore Girls, they’d better get their act together to bring the Lorelai storyline to some sort of resolution. There have also been rumors that Gilmore Girls may get renewed for an Eighth season, but Alexis Bledel(Rory) is unsure if she would return. I’m not sure about a Gilmore Girls without Rory, and again, it would be Logan-free.
